To qualify as an Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (Car), you have to pass an examination which is conducted in three parts:
Part 1 - Test of Theory and
Hazard Perception;
Part 2 - Test of Eyesight
and Driving Ability;
Part 3 - Test of Ability
to Instruct.
You must take and pass all three parts of this examination within a two year period.
To become a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (Car) you must;
Hold a full British or Northern
Ireland unrestricted car driving licence;
Have held it for a total of four years out of the past six years prior to
entering the Register after qualifying;
Not have been disqualified from driving at any time in the four years prior
to being entered in the Register;
Be a fit proper person to be entered in the Register;
and pass the Register qualifying exam.
Streets Ahead, will give you all the training you require to pass the three qualifying exams. Hours of training can be suited to fit around your current commitments, however we recommend a minimum of one to one training 2 hours a week.
We will also provide you with the necessary books and information to pass the exams.
After passing the second examination, you can work as a franchised instructor on a Trainee Licence, for a maximum of six months, or until the Part 3 examination has been achieved.
After qualification, we will give you a position with our busy driving school as a franchised instructor. You will be self employed and work as many hours as you require.
